The present building of the First Church was designed by Albany architect Philip Hooker, constructed during 1797-98, and dedicated to the glory of God in 1799.  The sanctuary provides a dignified, majestic space for the worship of God.

First Church celebrates the arts through a diverse musical program, an annual Arts Sunday, and displays of historical artifacts and contemporary art.
