Children ages

4-8 years

Children & Worship provides an age-appropriate way of being in worship for children ages 4 - 8 years. Based on Montessori principles,
C&W continues to be one of the most effective ways to nurture children's faith and prepare them to worship with their entire congregation.
For details, please contact Sara Bonam Welge at sbonam@nycap.rr.com.

Children

ages 9

years & up

This is our inaugural season for this age group, and we are very excited to see what these young believers discover about their faith and themselves.
9up seeks to encourage the gifts and faith understanding of the child moving from Sunday School toward Youth and Adult Worship.

9UP finished their first ministry season and look forward to returning in the fall. We give thanks for Miss Kathleen and our thoughtful and talented kids who worshiped God the Creator.

In this season, 9up will be focusing on Art in Worship and exploring the ways in which art can bring us closer to God, the ultimate creator.
  • What: a gathering time is for children 9 and up to experience the making of liturgical art. Liturgical Art is art that is used within a worship service. It can include many mediums like painting, sculpture, paper-mache, writing and fabric.
  • Why: In the beginning, GOD created. During this time together, we will learn and experiment with other ways of telling the stories of our faith. We will work using the liturgical calendar, to better understand the colors that we use and why.
  • Where: second floor classroom
  • What you need to know: This will be hands on, we will be using paint, markers, glue, glitter and other things.  We WILL get messy, so PLEASE dress accordingly. A smock would be good to have and can be kept in our room (FYI - an old, adult shirt that will cover your clothes works great!).

We will meet and begin right at 10am, so come directly to the room.
We will meet the 1st & 2nd Sunday of the month.
(We may meet more frequently if we are working on a large project.)
